We support your care team by seamlessly extending services into the home, ensuring your patients receive the same level of quality and attention they would in a facility.
Insurance Verification Procedure
Prior to initiating treatment, identify the patient(s) with a chronic wound. Approval of the Insurance Verification Request necessitates the submission of patient medical records documenting that treatment aimed at healing the chronic wound has been attempted for a minimum of 30 days. Upon approval of the Insurance Verification Request, Amniotic Tissue will be shipped under net 60-day terms.
Healing
Following receipt of the Amniotic Tissue, proceed with application to the chronic wound. It is imperative to capture photographic documentation, including the ruler provided with the shipment, prior to each application. This photographic record will substantiate medical necessity by demonstrating progressive wound healing and verifying the appropriate patch size utilized throughout the course of treatment.
Prevention of Reimbursement Clawbacks
Our wound billing specialists provide proactive EMR reviews to ensure proper documentation and coding, minimizing the risk of Medicare clawbacks. Inadequate documentation of patient progress, current state, and diagnosis codes is a significant contributor to recoupments from physicians and nurse practitioners.
